The Used formed in 1994 under the name "Strange Itch" the band consisted of Jeph Howard, Branden Steineckert, Joel Pack, and Matt Brown. The band put out one album in 1998 and lasted until Quinn Allman took over the guitar and Ashton Johnson on bass in 1999 and at this point Strange Itch changed it's named to "Dumb Luck". In 2000, an EP called the The Naked Truth was released. Not long after the release, there was another line up change as Howard moved to bass and Bert McCracken took over the vocals.
